Did you know?
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was strengthened by the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA). Congress made clear that disability must be interpreted broadly, restoring the ADA’s original intent and ensuring that more people qualify for protections, accommodations, and equal access.
Many organizations still rely on outdated 1990 ADA definitions, but the ADAAA is the law today—and it requires a modern, inclusive understanding of disability.

Our Work

At Aligned Access, we don’t just meet accessibility standards, we redefine them. Our work ensures that inclusion is built into every space, policy, and experience.

What we do

At Aligned Access, we partner with nonprofits, community organizations, schools, courts, and mission‑driven entities whose work centers on community impact, accessibility, and equitable service delivery. We support organizations committed to building accessible, inclusive environments across programs, communication, and policies. Our services include:Advocacy Letters (Individual Support)
Advocacy Letters provide individuals with clear, disability‑related documentation to support accommodation requests, communication access, or barrier removal in schools, workplaces, public programs, and community settings. These letters help people assert their rights under the ADA and ADAAA, ensuring their needs are understood and appropriately addressed.
Aligner Letters (Organizational Accountability)
Formal accountability documents provided to mission‑driven organizations following consultations, soft audits, or training engagements. These letters clarify accessibility obligations, highlight areas needing improvement, and offer actionable, ADA/ADAAA‑aligned strategies to support meaningful, community‑focused progress.
Preliminary Access Check
Foundational assessments to identify access barriers in policies, spaces, and communication.
Proactive Accessibility Planning
Helping organizations integrate accessibility from the start, preventing compliance issues before they arise.
Awareness‑Driven Training & Workshops
Covering disability etiquette, breaking stereotypes, ADA/ADAAA principles, and inclusive communication strategies.
Assistive Technology Guidance
Recommending resources that enhance accessibility and usability for individuals with disabilities.
Accessibility Funding Readiness
Supporting organizations in understanding accessibility requirements and preparing internally to pursue funding opportunities for accessibility improvements. This includes identifying priorities, aligning policies with ADA/ADAAA standards, and strengthening readiness for grant applications.
Policy & Procedure Development
Creating accessibility‑focused policies that align with legal standards and best practices.
